The Cisco Firepower® 1000 Series is a threat-focused Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) security platform that provides enterprise resiliency by providing enhanced threat defence. When enhanced threat mechanisms are enabled, it provides remarkable long-term performance. The throughput range of the 1000 Series covers use cases ranging from the small office, home office, remote branch office, and Internet edge. Cisco Firepower Threat Defense is installed on the 1000 Series platforms (FTD). A subsequent release will include support for the Cisco® Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Firewall.
